Tourist bus access to the city of Lucca
Against the opinion of us, tourist guides ,the City administration has decided to ask for a ticket to all the tourist buses arriving in Lucca. We are very sorry for this, so all we can do is, at least, helping you with details so that the arrival of your groups to our town will be easier.
- Traffic regulations in force prohibit Tourist buses from parking in the residential centre of Lucca and in any area other than those specifically designated;
- All tourist buses, before arriving at their drop off points , must pass through the check in point in Viale Luporini from April 1st until October 31st;
From 1st November until 31st March they can drive directly to Piazza G. Verdi (gate S. Anna) and pay the ticket in the tourist office, there;
- A permit will be issued for the number of days the vehicle will be staying. The permit which cost Euros 25,00 per day + Euros 5,00 for parking, should be placed in a prominent position at the front of the bus to allow for easy inspection from outside;
- Buses with permits can then continue on to their various off-loading points . Maximum stopping time: 10 minutes;
- Once passengers have been transferred, the buses should return to the specific parking area;
- Passengers are later collected in similar fashion, allowing 15 minutes to complete the procedure;
- The fee is obligatory and enforceable by law. Omission to pay the fee or park in non-authorized areas will be subject to sanction by the Italian Highway Code Regulations.
